Recorded Jan 2011 - December 2011

All song recorded, mixed, and mastered by Edward Joyner
Co-produced by Edward Joyner and Ryan Heimlich
Album art by Edward Joyner

This collection of songs took a heck of a lot longer to produce than some of the other music I've occupied myself with, but it was a whole lot of fun to record and produce! I love what happens sonically when you mix roots-style pickin with those 80s-esque synth sounds. I hope you enjoy listening to the songs as much as I enjoyed recording it! Great additions to the songs by Ryan Heimlich, Clay Blackwell, and Connor Grimm.

Track Name: Puff of Smoke (Hanging On)
Watching horses through the window panes
We sway like barley in the wind
Take the saddle for the horses and put it on

I see you standing there, yer looking at me
And when I reach out to respond to yer touch
I see yer gone, really gone, like a puff of smoke
(a little puff of smoke)

Well I know that the time is come
And I know that the race is run
But you just keep me hanging on

Indecision strikes like hurricanes
I try to travel with the eye
But my ship gets blown off course when the winds
Change so fast, or when they die,
What gets left behind? I get left behind

Well I know that the time is come
And I know that the race is run
But you just keep me hanging on
Track Name: Origami Heart
I just want you to be far from me, origami heart
But if you want to stay that's ok,
I won't make you depart

Folding faster than I thought I would

Just walkin down the road toward silence,
Right past violet and blue
Just fold me tighter I'm bored with breathing
Tired of thinking too
Track Name: Stop the Flow
River in the road, set the levee stop the flow
There's visions in my head, as I sleep on the riverbed
But, oh, that river bed is feathery and soft
If you can fight the urge and somehow just shake it off

So I slept under the stream, til the river tore me from my dream
Alone against the tide, I long to find a place to hide
But, oh, that riverbed don't care at all
And as I fought the tide I was crushed by the waterfall

I don't see what's wrong with me,
I don't hear what's blowing into my ears

Oh I wish I could recall the ease of life before the fall
To move without a thought, a simple way which I forgot
Oh just to breathe without thinking at all
Lord let me move just like a waterfall
